I believe that no one and I mean no one will ever know when the world will truly end, except for god. And god himself promised to never ever destroy humanity with water. Remember Noah and the ark? yeah, so this isn’t gonna happen. And actually I know someone who studies this and they say that the Mayans did not even see that as a day of ending but a day of celebration for the coming of a new age. Want proof? Search it on Bing it’s there somewhere. Thinking that all this is true is a sin. You’re a sinner if you believe all this. I used to believe it until I had someone sit me down and talk about going to your local church and asking them about it. I do not believe that there is somewhere in the bible about this because there is not.

So… your argument against this is that it’s not mentioned in an old book that was written by the Romans? And that anyone who believes this (something with documented evidence backed up by astronomical observation), is sinning against a book about faith that is NOT backed up by any evidence?
Allah is great, lot’s of prophecies in Quran & Muhammed(PBUH) sayings have been fulfilled, some are still to happen. According to Islamic scriptures which are universal but not recognized by many non Muslims unfortunately, there is no mention of doomsday dates, just warnings & signs.

The bible was not written by Romans, it was was written by Jews of the old, and Christian Jews of the new, and contains many prophecies, but more important, a way to deny the self and live in a righteous way without pride or darkness regardless of what some choose to do with religion which we have seen to be horrifying. Perhaps the 2012 Mayan prophecy has meaning. Perhaps the coming of the Antichrist,or some other major spiritual event that has a scientific and physically visible face.
Well, God did always use the Jews as a way of fulfilling his messages to people of Earth. However, that doesn’t mean that God doesn’t use the people in other nations as well. Each culture has its’ uniqueness and richness that it brings to the minds of human beings. Today, America, (mind you named after an Italian explorer), is the greatest nation of the world now, so, many people rely on the Americans to lead, especially within such difficult times of the economy. Our faith is truly being tested, but is it really the end? Predicting this would be foolish, yet it seems so, doesn’t it? Why have the nations united in such ways within business, politics, and so on, for example, where English communication internationally is probably at its’ highest ever? Why is Israel still in the picture after so many years? The people in Israel now, what do they have to do with what happened thousands of years ago? Nothing!!!
If you believe in the WORD of the Bible, it is in Israel, God’s promise land, not any other peoples, that Christ will come again. This is why, theoretically, the USA, for example, helps Israel, and so does France. But, why really? A lot of uncertainties with this, and people need to search for some answers, or pray hard!!! I’m actually doing a report on this. I’m 17. I do believe in god and I go to church when I can. It’s not that I believe that something bad is going to happen it’s just strange that we read out of a book (bible) and try to live by it everyday. The bible has been out for so long and with reprinting and making more copies how do we know that it’s all 100% true. I guess that’s where faith comes in.
But if science says something will happen why not run with it. Science has been right a lot. What would we have without it. Yes, the bible says that god will come back and no one knows when. And for Kiersten you sound so holy but you’re quick to judge and call others sinners when the bible clearly says do not judge!!! People have different beliefs. But on the day of DEC 12 2012 I will be on my knees praying to the man above.

And when i was researching the Mayans one of my mom’s close friends told me that don’t ever worry about dec 21 2012 only because when she was reading an article she had came across this little segment about the Mayans and it had said that everythinq about dec 21 2012 is a LIE and they NEVER in there life did they hear such a thing and we should quit worrying about the end of the world because it’s not true. but im just 13 years old, i really don’t know all about the end of the world.
Well it is hard to believe that the world will end in 2012 or 3012. But be assured if the day does come it will be done. We may possibly be able to avoid it but that will depend on how it is going to happen and if there is any warning at all. Personally, I think the human race should be doing more to fix what we have screwed up on this planet before we worry about it ending. Just my thoughts.

There are many scientific evidences of something nasty to crop up on DEC 21 2012.
Right from mega volcanoes to the Hadron Collider and also planetary alignments….earth getting its poles reversed, planet x arriving and even the sun setting itself to a position that is very rare.
I’m a student of science and a very practical person by default. And now I’m saying that all this stuff I mentioned is all due in the last quadrant of a same year (2012). If this ain’t a puzzle then there is nothing more puzzling.

I agree with you cruzer65. Our plant is already dying, millions are starving, homeless, etc. Now we got a world pandemic of swine flu. If the world is going to end by this polar shift it’s not much we can do is there? But don’t count on our governments and presidents to help us out mind they will only make sure they are safe as they are doing now by putting seeds, art work (why if we are all dead) into caves. Put it this way near to this 2012 date I’m going 2 take my son and who ever wants to join me on top of a mountain. But thinking of it, if the world ends as we know it, then would it be worth surviving it? I know for a fact that millions of people will probably do something stupid near or just before that day. I’m no saint… I’ve judged people myself and I’m not proud of it… BUT I’ve never judged anyone for their religion or any spiritual beliefs in general. I would love to explain it all to you right now but like I keep saying, I can’t save the world until the people who mean the most to me (wife,family,friends,community,the world) believe in my claims of persecution by authorities.
Let me just say that there are evil people who have lived amongst us for many centuries and they are the ones who make sure all the things in the bible happen.
So even if god himself plans for a beautiful peaceful day for everyone on that day there are still others who will make it hell for us all.
So if I were you I would plan for that day to be a bad day and until then love your fellow human and be good to the earth and last but not least believe in and pray to god.
As of 2007, I am now a believer in god and that’s all he ever wanted from us was to believe in him and to pray to him.
He does not want us to go to church where he can molest,rob,control us and expect us to live by a bunch of rules set out before us.
He wants us to be FREE and believe in him and pray to him, that’s all he wants, he even said it himself “Go into your inner rooms and pray to me in privacy”.
It is no wonder why he would turn his back to us in a time when we “ALL” need him, look what the religions of the world have done to this planet. I think I can see why he is angry. lol.
If the end of the world does happen in 2012, remember this, There have been millions of people who have lived and died on this planet over millions of years and none of them were able to see the end of the world the way we will.

Of course nothing will happen on that day. There are no real sinners in this matter, whether you think something will happen or will not happen on that day. There is only a level of naive and stupidity, but that can also be corrected with proper desire to inform yourself in such a degree that this kind of nonsense will just pass you by as not significant, entertaining but not significant. There are people in this world who are earning big money on this kind of things and that is the real meaning for them, for us, let it not be a headache problem, let it be entertaining.

Interesting comments – I believe in an Essence, Force, Innate Power some of us call god – and I hopefully won’t belittle anyone else who does – but – can anyone tell me the name of this one God – Allah – Creator?
I would genuinely like to know. If I we’re to learn that this one and only Creator is or was what we call an Alien, I guess that would be an interesting concept to consider and debate about, just as we do here… ? but ultimately, it would change very little for us, we are here, we grow from children into adulthood, we follow our drives to find a suitable partner to procreate and perhaps enjoy each others company a little, then our body grows and withers away until we finally die. All this nonsense about glorifying death and how great it would be on the other side is beyond me – and I have cheated life several times – the first time at an age of 3, and these memories have accompanied and influenced me ever since to the point that I believe there is another world full of collective memories which can never be fully explained because some of them may even have belonged to another time and another person. It is better to appreciate life and all its practicalities for as long as we have. If there is a rebirth to another body, it would take some more drastic dying and coming back before we would know about it so what is the use glorifying it all? Principles and values are good to have but not to the point of being blind, fanatic and ignorant before we are accepted by another human being. I say enjoy the gift of life, and lets appreciate each other while we are alive – I believe that is the truth about God and His/Her intent!

The Mayan 2012 prophecy does not exist. People talk about a prophecy and cannot present any evidence written by Mayans or exact CODECS for this prophecy. There are prophecies in many religious books which you can go to the library and read them or go to a museum and see the original text. In the case of the Mayan prophecy no such text or depictions exist. This is only a fantasy based on the fact that only one of the Mayan calendars ends on 2012. Well our Gregorian calendar ends every December 31. There is no where written in Mayan drawings that the end of the World is in 2012. Force them to show you the writings that said so. They make reference to a codec but they do not show you the original writing. This is a lie made up back in the 70′s. Maybe what we should do is travel to Mexico on Dec. 2012 and celebrate the start of a new 3,000 year cycle just as we celebrate New Years Eve.
